Product Testing Services is a division of the Wool Testing Bureau S.A. (WTB), originally specializing in the testing of wool products as part of the testing scope for Wool Testing Services.

The Company is based in Summerstrand, Port Elizabeth.

Testing requirements for industry have evolved and the demand for testing a wider range of products has provided unique expansion opportunities.

These include a wider spectrum of Product Testing Services, amongst others:

  • Automotive products (textiles, plastics, leather, vinyl’s)
  • Paper
  • Geotextiles
  • Elastomers
  • Microdot Testing
  • Consumer Product Testing (household detergents, cleaning products)

WTB is a Company limited by guarantee and, having no Shareholders, is neutrally positioned to provide independent and unbiased testing services. It was incorporated on 26th June 1990 and provides sampling and testing services to the South African wool and textile industries.

The Company is involved in the testing and research for purposes of certification of wool according to the requirements laid down by the International Wool Textile Organisation (IWTO) and to other international specifications (ISO, DIN etc). The Company is a non-profit organisation. The income and the property of the company is applied solely towards the promotion of its main object of researching and testing.

Our SANAS accreditation, Laboratory Number T0020, handles a large portion of Wool and Product Testing for the various industry sectors of South Africa and Africa. Every client is important to us and we pride ourselves on exceptional customer service, as well as providing the highest level of technical expertise.
